What is "Baja" and where is Dalmagarry Road? Good questions. This is a new street on the map south off Fanshawe Park Road West and to the east of Hyde Park Road. The street name sounds Scottish. "Baja" is an "Ironstone Homes" project. Not quite sure what "Baja" stands for. These are local fairly new builders on a mission to build and build. They recently finished out a giant townhouse rental project just to the east of this site.

London is not accustom to witnessing new condo sites on such a grand scale. It is massive. Clusters of three, four, five, six and eight units built army style "row after row" of the nearly the same thing. Across the street is a parking lot for "The North London Plaza". It is a now busy part of town. Also new to the neighbourhood is a "Mandarin" restaurant and a new "McDonald's". There are 216 units in this project surpassing the size of the "Tribeca" townhomes project on Sarnia Road to the south.

Twelve different model styles, three and four bedroom units built with a 2 storey, 3 storey or a multi-level design. Brown brick, brown and tan coloured siding, block driveways, single and double car garage units. The units on the south side of the project are of a different style. They are two-storey units. When new, the unit sizes for the three level units were in the 1737, 1769, 1800, 1802, 1944, 1996 sq. ft.range in the BOCA and AZUL models with other model names of LUNA and CABO. Many of the interior units of a design style known as front-to-back units, meaning interior units share a common rear wall. This style of construction often used many years ago is now making a resurgence. It helps the developer to intensify the site.

After finishing this project, Ironstone went on to build the "Voila" complex in south-east on Evans Blvd. and Chelton Road in 2021 and "Pure on the Thames" off of Highbury Avenue North in north-east London in 2019-2021. The "Pure on the Thames" project carried over some of the design features found here. In 2022-2023 they went on to build a 92-unit complex called "The Shift" also on Edgevalley Road. These units were built with white exteriors and plenty of windows. In 2023, two additional projects are being released once again in South-East London on Evans Boulevard. Visit their website to find out what is new in their pipeline of new projects.

*** This project turned out nicely with attractive landscaping and color schemes. Mixing two story models and three-story models runs a risk of creating a mishmash, however in this case the two different styles seem to compliment one another.
