"The Gallery"

The look of this neighbourhood in Lambeth along Mather's Street started to change back in 2005-2008 when twenty-nine vacant land condos went in with the address 7222 Clayton Walk. These were large sized vacant land condos (homes) with sizes up to 3,000 sq. ft. It was a delightful location backing onto Mather's stream, a retainer pond and farmer's fields.

Then in 2021-2022 some twenty or so years later "Birchwood Homes" took advantage of another empty building site slightly upstream. Quickly and without fanfare they erected thirty detached vacant land condos. Two units hidden away at the back of the complex are two story models and the remaining twenty-eight units are one floor detached units in three different model styles. They are the Ashwood Model at 1,688 sq. ft., the Basswood Model at 1,702 sq. ft. and the Cotton Model at 1,752 sq. ft. These are all double car garage two bedroom models plus den models with finished basements.

Grey brick, grey front stone and front stucco like exteriors. Covered front entrances or covered front porches and some models have covered rear decks. Block driveways, double car garages. Eleven units enjoy what the developers called "lookout lots" which back onto Mather's Stream. Then on the north side of Mather's Stream is a new residential development site called "Silverleaf". It is on slightly higher ground. Massively big houses are going in on Silver Creek Circle.

Given all of this development activity, this portion of Mather's Stream has lost some of its stature. Urban planning is never an exact science. Paved walking trails have gone in along the creek with a bridge over the creek to Silverleaf Park. A decorative iron fence has also gone in to help separate the rear portion of this complex from the street and to help add an element of security.

Birchwood Homes will soon be developing out yet another new complex in the area. It will be at 3425 Grand Oaks Crescent in close proximity to a pond. Some of these units will back onto Pack Road. As of January 2023 a sales trailer is getting organized on site and the new curbs have gone in. Visit Sterling London.ca. Birchwood Homes has been extremely busy in Lambeth over the last few years. We also note that "The Gallery" project sold out into extremely strong markets. All that needs to be done going in 2023 is some final paving work.
