This was the very first section of Caen Avenue to be built on and some of these homes/condos were used as model homes. The building of this new north-east Woodstock subdivision started in 2012. Now ten years later, construction here continues on as surrounding vacant lands can accommodate more growth. In a sense, this subdivision acts as a safety valve in accommodating the needs of today's new home buyers. It's interesting to watch this process evolve as each new unit ends up selling for the highest price ever. Well that is not entirely true. Going into 2023 interest rates have gone up and new buyers now find themselves with less purchasing power. Builders in this subdivision have turned modestly cautious while the "Havelock" new subdivision in far north Woodstock continues on in 2023 with a backlog of pre-sold homes still to be built. These are interesting times in the new home building industry.
