“Landings Port Stanley”

The correct address should read 18 – 40; 46 – 58; 64 – 74; 51 – 61; 65 – 79 Compass Trail. These are all semi-style units built by Domus Developments. The remaining homes on this street are all single family homes also built by Domus. Many of them have rear ridge views.

These are semi-style freeholds with single or double car garages and block driveways, light grey coloured front stone, black shingles, black garage doors, covered front porches and tan or grey siding. Small upper patches of Hardi board siding. We note three sides of vinyl siding. This is not a particularly attractive feature.

The single car garage units have 1,125 square feet. Some units with this design style have an upper loft which then adds another 563 square feet of living space. The double car garage units are 1,032 square feet and some have upper lofts which then adds another 708 square feet of living space.

Early selling activities were scrambled. 2020 prices were reasonable unit Real Estate prices all across Ontario started to explode. The hot ticket item on this street were the detached units backing onto a ridge. The process of trying to reserve a lot and trying to work out a reasonable price was a challenge.

In all fairness, it was not really the builder’s fault. With prices everywhere jumping up so quickly to seemingly astronomical levels why would any builder want to presell units at bargain prices? Thankfully much of this craziness now seems to be behind us. Most of the units sold throughout the entire process were “in-house” sales.
