Let's look at this neighbourhood. 63% of the neighbourhood was built before 1960 and 62% of it are single family homes. In other words its a neighbourhood of modest older homes. 28% of the population live in "rowhouses" or more aptly described townhouses and 11% live in apartments. 69% own and 31% rent. A block away from these condos is the Saint Peter’s \Cemetery which has wonderful fir trees. A block or so away is a community pool.
Does all this mean that many older people live in this community? Not really, only 15% of the population is 65 and older. It's a young neighbourhood. 20% of the population is 19 and younger, 16% 20-29 and 25% 30-44. Younger families, many renting houses, townhouses and apartments. English is the dominant language spoken at 91% and only 14% of the population claim immigration status. That's one of the lowest percentages in the city.
Three clusters all facing the street with known unit sizes of 1,100, 1,152 and 1,200 sq. ft. An off white brick, grey shutters and a "mansard" style upper roofline. Some units have three upper bedrooms, others have four. Gas heat, open parking, some trees. Small covered front entrances with a storage locker type arrangement with a locking door built into the outside wall right next to each units front door. Store your boots, umbrella and perhaps baby car seat in there. It isn't very big.
These are older units in an older north-east-central London location. Low rise rentals across the street and buses with easy walking distance. Like the name says, this is a community within a community.
